Paramount Theater Of Charlottesville tickets & upcoming events

If you haven’t been to the Paramount Theater of Charlottesville yet, you’re missing out on a real gem right in the heart of town. This place isn’t just a pretty face; it’s a hub for live entertainment, community events, and even some history. Built in 1912, the theater has that vintage charm with its ornate ceilings and cozy, intimate vibe that makes you feel like you’re stepping back in time. Over the years, it’s hosted everything from big-name comedians like Ellen, who performed there back in 2004, to local theater productions that make you feel like part of the family. The venue’s got an energy that’s contagious, whether you’re catching a holiday ballet like the Nutcracker or a lively concert by a band like The New Pornographers. And if you’re into making a night of it, they often throw in after-parties that extend the fun way past the last encore. Just a heads-up, open seating means you better get there early if you want the best spots, especially for those must-see shows. Walk down Water Street East and you'll see the theater’s historic marquee calling out to you, honestly, it’s a perfect spot for a night out or a special celebration. Trust me, it’s more than just a theater, it’s a Charlottesville institution that keeps growing and surprising us all.
